Welcome to a new year in home design!

We saw many trends take centre stage throughout 2024 – some that will continue to evolve into 2025. Over the last few years, homes have been transforming into multi-dimensional spaces catering to working from home, fitness spaces, and supporting multi-generational living. Functional floor plans continue to remain a top priority as we work with you to create your dream space.

Let’s rewind through 2024:

Natural Elements

We saw a lot of natural elements such as stones, earthy tones, and woods, to compliment things like large windows and greenery throughout the home.

Spa Ensuites

With a health mindset, an ensuite that mimics the spa is gaining popularity. There is nothing like the ability to unwind and relax in your own home with the same benefits as visiting a spa.

Texture

For more personality and texture, we saw things like paster range hood fans, textured wallpapers, MDF feature walls, and other custom details.

Arches

Arches are making their way back into home trends. This architectural charm helps create beautiful curved lines that soften and elevate the home’s vibe. This goes along with the trend of curved furniture which adds fluidity and softness to interiors.

Mixed Metals

Incorporating mixed metals into your home is a great way to add depth and interest into your interior design. Think black faucets with gold or silver hardware and matching two-tone lighting.

Painted Trim

Painting the trim around your doors and windows is a great way to elevate the space and create a “wow” factor in an easy and affordable way.

Sophisticated Lighting

Think of lighting like jewelry. It completes the look of your home and compliments the rest of your interior design details. Think bold fixtures, mixed materials/textures, and unique pieces.

Design Details

It’s all in the details! Details like reeded glass or reeded wood islands are a great way to spice up an average feature in your home and turn it into something that will make your guest say “oooo, ahhhh.” Some other details we saw throughout our show homes include exposed plumbing, wood beams, and running the quartz countertop through the backsplash as well.

We can’t wait to see which trends dominate in 2025, which trends end in 2025, and which trends continue to evolve. Our predictions (and plans!) include:

  • Bold colour and more colour with colour drenching
  • Rich, warm wood tones are returning with walnut and dark stained oak
  • Maximalism including mixing dark tones with gold accents and antique pieces
  • Natural stone accents
